Sometimes I feel that I lead three different lives: the office professional, the weekender, and the traveler. It seems like a lot of roles to tackle and remain stylish yet comfortable.
I have always loved fashion, stylish clothing, and especially shoes. Unfortunately, for the past 14 years, I have struggled with pain. I was diagnosed with arthritis in my neck in my mid-thirties, and am also a fibromyalgia sufferer. As time progressed, it became more difficult for me to wear any shoes with heels as they would hurt my neck, and some days, even the seams on pants and sweaters would cause discomfort from the fibromyalgia. I had come to the conclusion that I had to sacrifice style in order to be comfortable. I had given up.
Then, a wonderful thing happened. I realized that I didn’t have to give up style to be comfortable.
I decided to make it my mission to seek out stylish clothing and shoes that can be worn in the office, on the weekend, or for travel, that also score high on the comfort scale. I’ve spent quite a bit of time over the years pulling on and pulling off clothing and trying on and taking off shoes in order to find that perfect balance of style and comfort. I created this blog in order to share my Styled Comfort with you.
I hope you enjoy!
