The Athleisure Trend – Here to Stay

Athleisure wear has been a difficult concept for me to grasp. Until recently, I have always thought that athletic clothes had a place in the gym, the hiking trials, or a quick trip to the grocery store only. But lately, I’ve been experimenting with this comfortable and stylish trend and I like it!

Yesterday, we drove up to Lake Berryessa and the Monticello Damn in Napa County to see the Morning Glory Spillway (the largest in the world) that is running for the first time in a decade due the tremendous amount of rain that Northern California has been experiencing this year.

The drive for us takes about an hour and half so I wanted something comfortable to wear in the car for a long drive yet dressy enough to stop for dinner in St. Helena on our way back home. Athleisure wear to the rescue!

I normally wear these Metro Slouch pants from Athleta with a t-shirt to run quick errands on the weekends. But yesterday, I decided to style these super comfortable pants with a black t-shirt and BNCI by Blanc Noir Vegan Suede Drape Jacket from Nordstrom Rack. I accessorized the look with a lightweight scarf and this turned out to be the perfectly comfortable and stylish outfit for our day trip.

The active-wear pants have a flattering relaxed fit with an adjustable drawstring at the waist and legs for added comfort. The stretchy fit allows the pants to form to your every move and I love the five pocket styling. There are two back patch pockets, two zippered front slanted pockets and one “key” pocket, which is a signature Athleta feature. Slip into a pair of shoes like these Asics MetroLyte walking shoes and you will be stylish and comfortable all day!

I’ll definitely be embracing more Athleisure wear styles in the future!

Until the next post, stay stylish and comfortable.
