My wish for a rain free weekend did not come true. However, when the sun finally did decide to make an appearance and shine its bright rays down on Northern California this weekend, we headed straight for a day trip to Bodega Bay. Located about 40 miles northwest of San Francisco on the Sonoma Coast, this quaint fishing village makes for a wonderful and relaxing day trip if you live in or are visiting the San Francisco Bay Area.
The views along the coast are absolutely stunning. Here we pulled over to soak up the sun and view a picturesque rocky outcrop along the coast.
I was not only excited to be out enjoying the sun, but also to wear my new blue ribbon yarn sweater from Chico’s. I just love how this blue pastel pairs with either light or dark denim. The ribbon yarn makes this sweater light-weight and comfortable and just a simple camisole is all that is needed underneath.
As the air became a bit more brisk, I topped off my denim and blues with a white cropped jean jacket. This was just the right pop of color to offset the blue sweater and denim and seemed like the perfect seaside color combination.
Also, don’t forget sun protection. This UPF 50+ wide brimmed hat by Scala tags along with me every time I’m out playing in the sun. The wide bendable cotton canvas brim is what I love most about this hat. You can turn the brim down for ultimate coverage or you can flip the brim up for a more stylish look and still have plenty of sun protection.
We then stopped to have a delicious bowl of clam chowder at The Tides Wharf Restaurant and enjoy the magnificent view of the bay. I didn’t happen to get a picture of the clam chowder, but I did manage to snap a shot of this little guy while admiring the beautiful view.
So long Bodega Bay. Hope to be back soon for another visit.
Until the next post, stay stylish and comfortable.
