Giving Winter the Cold-Shoulder

The sun was finally shining this weekend in Northern California, so we jumped at the chance to get outside and enjoy the gorgeous weather. This was the perfect chance to wear my new floral cold-shoulder blouse that I had purchased over a month ago at the Nordstrom Rack. The blouse has been sitting in my closet patiently waiting to make its debut and now it was time.

We decided to take a drive into Petaluma and have lunch and stroll around the always lively downtown. We always enjoy walking through the Lan Mart building as it feels like you are being transported back in time. The building was built in 1911 and is a wonderful little maze of brick walls and independently owned businesses. You can grab a bite to eat, take a Pilates class, shop for fine gifts and Christmas decorations, and even get your hair cut, all in one building.

Since this was just a casual day of shopping and strolling, I decided to pair the blouse with a grey cotton pencil skirt and blush colored ballet flats by Clark’s to create a relaxed and sporty look. Too bad this restaurant was already booked up for the evening…..maybe next time.

As the wind picked up and a chill came into the air, I topped the blouse with this darling pink denim jacket from Target. The color picked up the pink and rose hues in the blouse and the denim styling made for a perfect pairing with the sporty and casual look of the outfit.

Here’s to giving winter the cold-shoulder. Well…. at least for now.

Until next time, stay stylish and comfortable.
